My Story (so far)
I was born on July 9th, 1990 and grew up in Suffolk, a farming county in the UK. In fact at only twenty years old, I guess I’m still growing up. However, these days my life tends to be a little bit more exciting shall we say. My parents have given me a great upbringing, starting school a little early, my mum chose to put me through Montessori education as she was teaching the subject back then, a solid foundation that gave me a great start before joining my first school back in 95′. I loved being around the other kids, but by the time I turned 15 I knew school was no longer for me…
You see, by that time I’d been using a computer for almost 2 years, which I have my superstar of a step dad to thank for. I was getting pretty good, and more importantly enjoying myself. There was something about the internet that really had me hooked, from a very young age I knew I wanted to start up a business, but the overheads for an offline business were far too high and to be honest, I really didn’t have any decent enough ideas.
In 2006, I launched my first Web 2.0 campaign as an affiliate marketer, working at a TV network during the day and putting the hours in during the evening. It was hard work, but 4 weeks after the first campaign was up and running, I’d made my first $1000. It was at that point I knew from then on, that this online stuff was for me. My dream of working for myself and travelling the world was almost becoming a reality, but it wasn’t consistant…. I needed more time.
I decided to find a job a little closer to home, so I began selling TV’s and electrical goods at our local store. It was actually pretty fun, I enjoyed meeting new people and my colleagues were great… it was selling people stuff they didn’t need that really got to me. Especially those god awful insurance plans. So once again I was back on the grind, 10 hours a day at the day job and working my butt off at night time to establish more and more affiliate websites.
By the age of 18, I’d set up a network of affiliate sites that allowed me to finally turn my back on my day job, an amazing feeling that makes all the hard work worth it… trust me there’s nothing quite like it. BUT I chose not to work for myself just yet, some people thought I was a bit stupid for not doing so, and they may have been right, another opportunity arose however that opened my eyes to a whole new world of marketing and passive income.
I headed up to the north of the UK to work alongside a very successful Clickbank merchant. You see, it was my goal to eventually be the guy behind the niche products and offers, I’d made money promoting affiliate offers, but I knew I could make so much more if I actually owned the products. So from that point onwards, I got my hands as dirty as I possibly could, nothing beats that kind of experience in my opinion…you can read as many courses as you like, but unless you actually do it for yourself, its just theory.
For the next 2 years I learnt the skills that would allow me to build a $30,000 (net profit) per month online business, be a part of 2 ClickBank #1 bestsellers and launch niche sites with membership levels in excess of 3000 people. Through hands on experience I could now recruit thousands of affiliates, gain access to high level JV partners, drive hundreds of thousands of visitors and live the dream Internet Lifestyle.
And what a lifestyle it is, these past few years I’ve been all over the world, as I write this in fact I’m just returning from Phuket, Thailand.. a truly amazing destination that has shown me a different way of life.
Some of my dreams include (and these may seem kinda sad)
- Speak at Yanik Silvers Underground Event
- Take Part In The Gumball Rally
- Shake Dan Kennedy’s hand + participate in some way at the info summit (this genius is my “Guru”)
- Meet Richard Branson
- Buy my parents a house
- Visit the Playboy mansion
and a bunch more, which I can’t think of for some odd reason, don’t you hate that?
actually, here’s one more and this is a big one which leads on to the next section really well, create a brand that represents excellence in both business practice and ethics of online marketing, that benefits all who come across it… both customers and subscribers.
The Renegade Philosophy And Business Model
- Always Exploit New Trends. In an industry driven by a community that constantly works toward new versions and new breakthroughs, you need to have your finger on the pulse at all times. There are some things that will never change, for example the psychology of selling, however if you choose to be ignorant to the fact that there are new advances taking place, you’re going to lose out. When you see a new trend taking place, be the first to make an impact through implementation, don’t wait on others.
- Know Your Limits. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt over the years, it’s not be embarrassed about what you can’t do. Unless you’re a complete superstar and jack of all trades, there are going to be areas of your business that you need advice on. Whether it be technical help or writing copy for your upcoming product, don’t be afraid to ask for help or simply pay someone else to do it. Focus on your strength’s and let others take care of what they do best.
- Work Hard – Play Hard The difference between successful and non-successful Marketers, Entrepreneurs and People in General (regardless of their field) has to be the sheer determination to achieve their goals… letting nothing stand in their way. Whatever your dreams are, don’t for one second think that they’re going to be easy to achieve, because as much as some hate to hear it, you’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of you and there will be some sacrifices you have to make… but believe you me, that day you walk into your bosses office and say “I’m done” will be the most liberating of your life.
